THE AVEC grant 2007
To the member cities and territories of AVEC
In order to facilitate the integration of its new members, the AVEC association proposes each year to some of its members, to travel in France thanks to a grant given by the French ministry for Culture and Communication.
This grant ensures to the new members the possibility of being able to examine on the spot the operation and local activity developed by some of the oldest members of the network, and to exchange with them experiments concerning valorisation and animation of local heritage, and more largely the work of the institutions, and practices of sustainable development of the historical cities and territories.
This year, two grants are given to the association by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
Conditions:
The candidate must:
• speak French at a fluent level
• have an education of higher level related to the sustainable management of the heritage (ex.: historian of art, architect, manager of tourism, teacher of heritage, historian, city planner...)
• have a professional activity in the field of local animation of the AVEC network and linked to the sustainable development of cultural / natural heritage within the community of a municipal organism.
• have a precise research topic, which can be defined according to his/her profile and of his/her needs, and which will be the object of a small report resulting from the stay sent to the AVEC association and to the French Ministry of Culture.
The person candidate will thus be a person who is or will be committed in the cooperation of his/her local community with the AVEC network (correspondence, preparation of the participation in the full sessions of association, coordination of the participation of the city or territory in the preparation of European Union projects …)
Application deadline: November 15, 2006 (for a training course taking place at the between November 2006 and March 2007).
The grant ensures:
• A stay to share experience during four weeks, and participate in the local team work of the French cities of the AVEC network (Arles, Tours, Rennes, Vienne, Pézenas, Limoges).
• 1 210 euros of subsistence expenses (housing and food) + refunding of the price of the return ticket of international transport for France (train or plane) or the provision of the plane ticket to the airport or in an agency + tickets necessary in France
• Sickness insurance for the duration of the stay
The preparation of the stay will be ensured by the general delegation of the network in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.

The beneficiaries of the grant will have to prepare after his stay in France a written report in which he/she will explain how he/she will take advantage of this experience.
